They are practically telegraphing that the Church is going to endorse same-sex marriage, and soon.
Because that ain't happening.... ever.
That would entail a change in doctrine and they have not imagined the hurt that would visit this pope if he tried it. He would forfeit his doctrinal authority from that moment forward and give rise to a vast movement of sedevacantism. I doubt even Francis is going to go that far.
