I’m in the Triangle area, it’s breezy, with occasional strong gusty winds, and it is raining. The ground was already saturated because it has rained every day since Thurs before last and models last night were predicting up to 10 inches of rain could fall. This additional rain could cause flooding, power outages, uprooted trees, and broken limbs. We lost two good sized limbs off of pecan trees earlier in the week. This could turn into a big mess.

Our pines here in Raleigh with shallow roots and lots of height are not going to do too well with high winds and more rain. We have numerous ones near our house.

I’m in central Virginia. We’ve had over a week of rain already; today and tomorrow will be heavy rain and high winds from this tropical moisture being pulled in. I will be so glad to see the sun again.

Let me tell you, I am thanking God for turning that hurricane away from the coast...it’s an answer to prayer. Otherwise I don’t know where all the water would have gone.

That’s the nature of pecan trees. We constantly lose big pecan limbs for no other reason than it’s Tuesday. There’s a reason why there’s an old saying about never camping under a pecan tree.
