Triad area here. I’ll be going to TN via Virginia this weekend rather ran by I40. I’ve been on rhat road when a big section of it fell into the river.

We’ve had rain for more than a week. Heavy rain on and off yesterday. Lots of limbs down. Very windy. With the saturated ground any substantial rain is going to mean flooding and trees down with power outages.

Our front yard was covered with broken tree limbs yesterday morning and a couple of pine trees fell in our wooded area late yesterday. It will be a mess. I have food, water and gas for the generator. As long as some pine tree doesn’t fall on the house we’re good.

That mountain has been sliding into the river since the road was built in the 60's. I hope it has provided a lesson on where not to put a road.

Triad here also Same here...Have had to be extra wary on the backroads for the trees and limbs down. I usually drive the roads in the dark and they can be a surprise strung out across the road... THAT said, I DO resent the panic mode the newswimps are pushing and "officials" up to the governor. C'mon McCrory...we are not babies.
