My Dad told me a story of firing one, an M2 in anger, and the firing pin broke. He was glad to exchange it for one of the new-fangled Stoner guns with a direct gas inpingement firing system.
Believe his exact words were, “as slick as cat *** on linoleum.”

I grew up on Long Island many years ago and it wasn’t as bad back in those days.

The M2 you show is the selective fire full auto capable version of the M1 carbine.
