And you have a better idea? Yes, I realize it's easy to say. All I'm doing is trying to offer up some way that unarmed students can keep from getting themselves killed...if possible. Of course, when some lunatic starts shooting, if there is no plan, many people will die. Even if people are trained to react, without a firearm people will die.

But what do you suggest people do in that situation? Sit there and take it? A number of shooters have been neutralized by brave people who tackled them before they could kill more people. I would say people trapped in a classroom have a better chance to survive by rushing a shooter than crouching down and waiting for the bullet that kills them.
