Well between all your maybes, your denial of genuine empathic shock by any FReeper is clear enough.No, I do believe in the existence of this genuine empathic shock--even from people who are far removed from Roseburg, don't know anyone who's likely to be there, and don't have any other reason to feel some form of close personal connection. I'm just skeptical that certain kinds of "funny" comments are a convincing expression of it.
