You know your history FRiend. And history is always prone to repeat itself "if we fail to learn from the mistakes of the past".
Our carriers would be sitting ducks in such a situation. And to lose a carrier would result in only a two-option response, the first to GTFO with our tail tucked between our legs, OR to escalate with tactical nukes. I say tactical nukes because any less of a response would have little credibility. And at that point, there is no telling how far things could go.
The U.S. hasn't lost a carrier in combat since the U.S.S. Bismarck Sea (CVE-95) in the closing months of World War II in 1945.
I'm sure reviving that sad tradition would put a tingle in Barky's leg,
that America-hating sonuvabitch.
