My current federal tax rate is 28%. Under Trump's plan, it goes to 20%. That's a pretty significant decrease. That 20% rate goes up to an income of $300,000 (married, filing jointly). Then it maxes out at 25% for anybody making $300,001 and up ($150,001 if you are single).

I can live with that.

That’s a decent start.

Ya know, every competent & capable adult is expected to achieve financial independence by about age 65, starting at nothing and having to earn their way.
Strange that the government - after some 250 years - STILL can’t fund its own way, despite owning the d@mn money printing presses and taxing the he11 out of everyone the whole time, is absurd.

Did you consider tax due on all the income or did you use your previous deduction terms?

I did the calc on 100% of income, no adjusted gross income and I LIKE the result. Simpler, less fuss, no flim flam. I can live with keeping 75% of what I earn if I do well. Live with it all day long and twice on Sunday.

Working for 50 or 60 cent dollars as we do now is a non-starter for busting my butt and being at risk though.
