I do not like the idea of some people not having to pay federal taxes. Everyone should share the burden of paying for government services. If you don’t pay some tax then you should not be allowed to vote.
As I said in another post...it’s not just about “not paying taxes”...with all the credits allowed (EIC, etc.) I know people who not only pay no taxes, they get a check from the government at tax time due to the credits for the “poor.”
Some do not realize that even if people don’t pay federal income tax, they do pay into the federal government through gasoine taxes, phone taxes, utilities, etc. Look at everything you use as a consumer, and you will see those hidden federal taxes in them.
