In that same regard, Atlas Shrugged has become a documentary, not a novel.

Lots or retirees move south to escape the cold winters and the high taxes. It is a double whammy for the northern ‘blue’ states.

They do continue with their old way of thinking. You would want to believe that they have seen the light yet they have not.

My only explanation is that these idiots are trapped in a libtard box mentality. They do have the smarts to see their quality of life increase with the move south they just don’t have the vision or clarity to understand why.

But when they come down here, they bring their failed policies and politics with them!

Took a second to realize you meant US States and not the failed states of Syria, Somolia, Iraq, etc..

Liberals flock to attractive places like Seattle and drive up the cost of everything via regulation, zoning, and overcrowding. Downtown Seattle has become an overbuilt morass of construction sites, detours, traffic jams, and overcrowding.

And now they are proposing building a 100-story office building - another 5 or 6 thousand people - along with three or four more twenty-five story projects. And now they are spray-painting the crosswalks with the rainbow flag colors in some areas.

It's getting so bad that its even creating a schism among liberals, and many long-timers are talking about getting out ASAP.

I know several who winter in Arizona.

A law should be passed stopping democrats from moving to conservative states... Why should democrats destroy cities - then be allowed to move on to new places to destroy. Let them live in their own filth...

THIS is why the scumbag Democrats who run the old tired Northeast cities and have destroyed them want terrorists from Syria to take the place of their base which is even leaving.

We moved last year from Cali to NV. Of course, we’re only about 5 miles from the border but it’s plenty far enough to live in a free land again!

....just ask Colorado.

Colorado has a long history of looney leftism. Remember Pat Schroeder?

“If I was back home, we’d be getting ready for win-tah. Two, maybe three weekends left before snowfall is a distinct possibility. Whereas in the south, I’m still mowing my lawn. Grilled out on the patio last night. It was perfect. “

You, my friend are most welcome. You can also play golf almost anytime of the year, and attend a high school football game in a stadium bigger than the college at South Bend, IND.

Only thing I miss about my 6 years living in NE were the seasons, which are really spectacular. I get my juices not just visiting at the right time there, rather than having to live thru the mess that is called winter.

“But when they come down here, they bring their failed policies and politics with them!”

Yeah, but if we can isolate them into enclaves, it is like having Sheila Jackson Lee in Congress. She is such an idiot, but it is being an isolated idiot.

I think here in Texas the enclave is Austin, my home town. 40 years ago when I lived there, great place. Now when I visit, I cannot talk on a cellphone in the car, or have bags at the grocery store unless I bring them. That is liberalism to a tee. But Texas is big, so we tolerate the waste of Austin to benefit the rest of the state.

This is what is known as “fouling your own nest” and then going somewhere else and starting all over.

My daughter lives there and my visits show me what I wish to avoid.

Tough, as it is beautiful. So was California when I lived there, but it needs to be returned to Mexico and call it good riddance.

“This is what is known as “fouling your own nest” and then going somewhere else and starting all over.”

Fouling the nest is what is what the cuckoo bird is known for.

Ironic, isn’t it, as the name is penned to liberals as well.

They’ll migrate south and immediately proceed to bitch about Confederate battle flags, statues of Lee and Jackson, and the traditional ways of southerners.

And start pushing for more free handouts and taxpayer subsidies for things like light rail, symphonies, orchestras, museums and higher taxes to support them.

And of course, more rules, laws, and gun control.

Many won't be happy until the entire south looks like Baltimore or Newark.

It looks like they have already pretty well destroyed a lot of Florida and North Carolina and are working on the rest of the south.

Ayuh. It's nice to visit Maine 'bout this time of the year. Tourists have all gone home, and the blackflies have died off. Might be a little chilly at night, but nothing that can't be cured with a sweat-tah. :-)

Then, I go home to more of the same. Perfect.

Last winter, my hometown set records for snowfall. Which must have been impressive, since I can remember snowbanks up as high as the telephone lines.

I don't miss it, not one bit.
