I work with H1B people all the time, having been in the tech industry for over two decades. I have yet to see one overstayer.

Most of them ( the good ones ) have their visas renewed. A lot apply LEGALLY for green cards, and then get stuck there for years waiting for their application to be approved.

I already have several H1B colleagues who I hired waiting for 5 years for their green card applications to be approved. Just going through the Department of Labor is a pain in the butt.

We have known a few of these good people. It took forever for them to become citizens after legally going through the process. They paid their taxes and were and still are good people.
