Clearly redistribution does not work in our world.

However, think how it might look in a century or two. A time when most of the labor is done by robots, drones, machines of every kind. They will be operated by a small portion of the population, possibly owned by large corporations or the government. How will the general population live? Will their basic needs be met by the abundance of the technology. I seems that out of necessity we will need a socialist type of government.

You fail to recognize the influence of the human spirit on human affairs.
Machines are not an alternative to human endeavor. They are a facilitator, otherwise they would not be developed.
