It brings tears to my eyes to read your story. My prayers for you.
The rapid progression of your fathers illness however do not sound so much like Alzheimers as they do strokes.
Did they confirm his condition as Alzheimers or did they do an autopsy?
Thank you for your prayers. I don’t believe there was any autopsy. His nurse told us Dad was taking meds for dementia, which did not surprise me. They didn’t actually use the term Alzheimers. My siblings who live in that city decided on cremation.
All four of us are still learning about the details one needs to take charge of when a loved one passes on. Insurance monies, estate taxes, shutting off and canceling all heating and water bills, so no street people move into that now empty house and push us deeper into debt. My parents never wanted to talk much about their health issues, especially my father. Even as 50 to 65 y/o ‘children’ we did not feel comfortable asking him for the details about his physical health or his financial stability. He told us what he wished us to know. We surmised the rest.
