Donald Trump attacks Marco Rubio -- and everyone else ("I have better hair, right?")
CNN ^ | Tal Kopan

Trump was apparently in a fighting mood, after declaring a boycott of Fox News earlier in the day. And Rubio wasn't his only target: few rivals were spared from his attacks.

Trump riffed extensively on the perspiration of other candidates during last week's CNN-hosted debate.

"That room was hot. I mean, poor Chris Christie!" he said. After some gasps and laughter, Trump said, "No, it's true."

"(Christie)'s a nice guy. It wasn't fair. it was an amazing thing; I was like a piece of water," he said.

Rubio was again mocked, with an oblique reference to his infamous gulping of water during his 2013 State of the Union GOP rebuttal.

"Rubio -- I've never seen a young guy sweat that much. He's drinking water, water, water. I never saw anything like this with him with the water," Trump said.

I realize that.

I know we are dealing with people of honor whose word is their bond.

Unless one had his toes or fingers crossed.

(I didn’t mark the first one with an s/s but I think this makes it more obvious)

In the election of 2008, the Republican VP candidate was debating the smug Joseph Biden and he just kept gulping water and gulping water while Biden smiled that smug unnaturally white grin. I remember thinking that someone must have put “something” in his glass of water that caused unnaturally dry mouth. Odd.

Did you mean 2012? In 2008 the GOP VP candidate was Sarah Palin.

In other words, not as smart as YOU!

But apparently smarter than you?

Think for a change.

I guess thinking that a President ought to have some class and restraint makes you a GOPe elitist RINO toady for Jeb Bush or Carly Fiorina.

The GOPe exercises the type of "class and restraint" that a wimp has when he catches his wife in bed with another man.

But if I'm looking for a President, I want the guy to demonstrate more substance in his head and fewer cheap shots out of his mouth.

I think you confuse appearance over substance, which is the real problem here. If you appreciated substance, you'd like Trump over your own candidate, who likely supports amnesty for the 40 million illegals.

Trump is a big crybaby. Can dish it out, but is prone to rage tweeting and whining when questioned, challenged or, God forbid, criticized. So yeah, he acts like a child.

What you do is whining. What Trump does is quite amusing!

My candidate is Cruz. Is that who you're referring to?

Also, I have heard very little substance from Trump, in the two debates so far and in the interviews I have heard. "Hey, I'm great! Look at my poll numbers! I'm winning! I've made billions of dollars! Those other guys are losers! I can't answer those questions right now, but when I'm President, things will be great! I'll have fabulous people working for me! I'll build a big wall! People will call it the Great Wall of Trump! It will be terrific, believe me!"

Absolutely, though it didn't matter, since every candidate but Trump has the same position. Ultimately, even Cruz is still owned by his corporatist/globalist donors:

Also, I have heard very little substance from Trump,

Because you live in a little anti-Trump bubble where you don't hear any substance, you just hear things that upset you, and then you come on to FR to share your pain with others.

Thanks. I guess I meant 2012. (What was that guy’s name?) No; Sarah Palin didn’t gulp water at debates. She comported herself much superior to Tubby Clinton. (Twinkie can say that, because Twinkie’s Tubby, too!) :o)

Thank you! I’ll try to remember that. His face kept coming back to me; but his name just would not. - These days (my seventieth year) my memory seems to be the thing I forget with. :o)
