“April of 2009, forgivable.”
‘Really? I guess that means you were fooled by Obama in 2009 as well. Hard for me to relate, I was onto the guy in 2002 or whenever it was he ran against Alan Keyes - and 2004 at the DNC with the speech. I guess some people are fooled easier than others.’
You never tire of pointing out how superior you are, do you?
A failed politician vs a real estate mogul?
For some people, that’s already a significant difference.
“A plurality of GOP voters have decided hes the right candidate for the right time.”
Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain, Romney. It’s important to keep the Republican voter’s record in mind. I always thought of FR as being something different than the mainstream GOP voter base. It is not.
Yawn.....
When he made that statement, Trump was a self proclaimed democrat. He had also made recent statements ridiculing the repubs, and in support of some longtime democrat causes, “a woman’s right” etc. I fully believe that was a heart felt expression.
Well a couple of thoughts: First, I never thought you were fooled by Obama. I don't think ANY Freepers were fooled by Obama ever, let alone by 2009. That's why it bamboozles me that they're so eager to jump on board with a man who was much more of a sucker, much more easily bamboozled, much less insightful than they were...for President. I don't want people who "get it" LATE to lead the movement of those who got it from the get go. I'm happy to have the late joiners on the team, BUT NOT AS CAPTAIN of the team.
And while we may not see it, there are no wasted prayers. Do not stop that part of your routine in fighting for the country.
Sorry bobbie - that's not how it works. You see, the burden of proof is on you to find any other current candidate who slobbered over Obama like a fan boy the way Trump did. Maybe Graham did. Maybe Kasich did. Maybe Jeb did. And we know Christie did in 2012, for ulterior motives. But it's pretty clear to me that Cruz nor Huck nor Jindal nor Santorum nor Carson ever did. NEVER. It's not in their nature. This has been in DT's nature, for decades.
And then there's the issue of the voters, commenters. None of the commenters were fooled. You're putting a lot of faith in a man not nearly as perceptive as you were. That's dangerous food for thought.
Watch the slobbering posters - many of the same posters who would not forgive Mitt for any of his liberal dalliances much earlier than 2009 - would not forgive Newt for his liberal dalliances, even though Newt’s record of conservative accomplishment is massive - as they overlook, obfuscate, make excuses for and make false comparisons to protect their savior PING
FTR, I never gave Mitt the slack, nor do I give Trump the slack. I recognize Trumps positive impact, but I haven’t forgotten the stuff like this.
“..a real estate mogul”
Who rented space to Gaddafi, who uses eminent domain to take people’s property, who contributes to corrupt Democrats so he can build homes for oligarchs, who builds golf courses in Dubai, who has done everything that every Freeper would condemn if anyone else did it.
Americans can’t hold congress accountable for what they did this week let alone last year or in the last 10 years. Just keep digging, Trump still won’t be as disgusting as the chosen GOPe candidate. LOL. Did anybody ever read Trump’s books on negotiation? When you want something from a narcissist, there are things you must do. When you are dealing with an extremely stupid electorate....
“New times, new rules.”
These comments are perfect. Hegel would be so proud that his historicism found its way into the heart of conservatism.
“When he made that statement, Trump was a self proclaimed democrat.”
Trump had spent a large part of 2008 endorsing and raising money for McCain, and you want to try to say that he was, at this time, a self proclaimed democrat?
You need to rethink things, to say the least.
But...but... that’s just all in the name of “good business.”
Plus, Trump praised Obama because he has a great strategy at work... a strategy so great you’ll get bored with winning. And it’ll be so great because it’ll be run by superstars.. terrific people.
It's Trump or the GOPe's pick.
“...as they overlook, obfuscate, make excuses for and make false comparisons to protect their savior PING”
What’s worse, they fulminate against anyone who brings these things up. I mean anyone. If the Bible said, “Thou shalt not vote for Trump.” We’d read, “Nice try God, what happened to your Saviour?”
Thanks for visiting.
You and I both know if any other candidates had voiced that same gushing approval of Obama, you'd be branding them RINOs, Uniparty types, GOPe stooges, etc.
True. Just look at how everyone jumped all over Christie when he said good things about Obama when trying to get money for the recovery from Sandy. That was 4 years ago, but you don't hear anyone giving HIM the benefit of the doubt.
That is a false dichotomy. That is as dishonest as the GOPe trying to say if we didn't vote for Romney, then we wanted Obama to win.
You know, you should support whomever your heart desires. This string of comments is off track. For the record, I only support strong proven conservatives. I am not a supporter of any political party.
