Bottom line whatever Trump said or done before he entered this race does not matter, every other candidate it matters but not Trump, nothing but what he says and does today matters, tomorrow whatever he says or does today won’t matter, every day is a new start day for Trump.
To me it is very reminiscent of both obama campaigns, all that matters is charisma, will he say what apparently everyone wants to hear, “obama is doing a great job” 2009, “obama is doing a lousy job” 2015, even though obama is doing the same as he did in 2009, just more of it.
Everybody loved Bernie Madoff investors bragging how much money they were making bringing more investors to his web of deceit, till they learned far too late, he was not what he claimed to be, how would they know he had a sterling reputation as a person, a family man and a business man... Just Saying!
Cruz 2016... he has been an American constitutional conservative from his youth, yeah he is not perfect but he is trustworthy, it is inevitable he has done or will do or say something on rare occasions not every conservative would like, but such circumstances are and will always be few and far between.

There may be something to be said for that. Which is why I find it odd that many of Cruz's supporters are more interested in bashing Trump than extolling the virtues of Cruz and are more interested in bashing Trump than going after the also-rans that are taking away support from both Cruz and Trump.
Walker was never going to get the nomination. Neither is Fiorina or Paul or Graham or Kasich or any of the other also rans. It's going to come down to Trump, Cruz, or Bush. If it looks like Cruz is not going to get any more traction, then the logical choice is going to be Trump.
Like I said, if you want to find an ideal candidate and a perfect human being, they don’t exist.
Its been established Trump is a Republican going back to the 80s.
Whether he’s a conservative, that’s up to voters to decide.
