when liberals are in the majority, the filibusters is done away with.

when republicans are in the majority, the filibuster is re-instated and a super majority is needed to pass anything.

A real statesman Senate majority leader would change the filibuster rules, just like the Dems did, and ram this through.

EXACTLY.

Had the Dems wanted to pass something, a simple majority would suffice. With US there, we need a supermajority to get anything done.

I blame the REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP for this one. They could get this through is they wanted it.
