Actually, yes. When my side wins and ruin the country it reflects on me. When the other side wins the country it doesn’t reflect on me. I refuse to support a candidate that will do more harm than good. If that means biting winds, so be it. The former is worse than the latter, but I would prefer neither.

Worse, if I am right I will be stoned for being a true FR prophet.

Not by me. I'll just figure you had some insight into this "Cruz dropping out next" scenario and will offer you kudos for the keen foresight and having good insider info.

With Jebbie now in double digits, the fix is in, and the people of FL and TX will be so happy.

Not all in FL.

Remember that this is about a lot more than "just" ideology. These people's CAREERS and their WALLETS are on the line.

I met with former GOP high level county official who was pure Kasich. At the end of our conversation he said, "He's the only one out there who, if he wins, I'd have a job in the administration."

These people are staring at being out of work.

I don’t like Jebecito still at 11% but I do like that he insists on continuing to dig the hole he’s in.

I cant see anyone overtaking Trump at this point. The crossover votes for Trump will put him over the top— IMO.

Job is my least favorite. My support is behind Walker and Cruz. I really like the things trumpet saying. Unlike many here, I see the whole package. Conservatives that support him are only seeing the conservative things. Liberals that support him are only seeing the little things. Moderates are kind of dumb which is why they’re in the middle. They like him because he is feisty and really giving a system they hate, fits.

Someone like Trump is great when he is on your side, but when you are his enemy you will regret electing him. And on many issues you are his enemy.

The strong man I speak of is in the story I spoke of. I started a thread on it here a couple of weeks ago. My position has changed since then. I feel much stronger that Trump should not be president.

If and when Trump wins he gets all those Cruz supporters as well. In fact the GOPe crowd will be forced to support our selected candidate this time around.

I love what Trump is doing right now, but he needs to how out before the primaries. I’ll not vote for him. Walker and Cruz are the only ones that will get my vote,

What leaf are you smoking again? BTW-- Walker is sayonara...

Why would I be his enemy if I vote for him? I also know that every person I voted for since I’ve been voting has not met all of my ideals as the perfect candidate...So far, I’ve heard good things on illegal immigration, 2nd Amendment, economy, trade, military, vets, Obamacare...I haven’t heard anything I don’t like....yet, with exception of honoring the Iran agreement, although I understand he looks at it like a business contract. But even if I do, it depends on what it is. Some things, like all of us, are non-starters...some things we can accept if the good outdoes the bad...depends on what it is.

Trump might be a self willed disaster; the other possible heirs apparent are either too weak in drawing power to win or WOULD be a disaster.

The real onus is on the people to embrace godly things (and even more, God) again. If they did that, ironically they might not even need believers as officials in order to prosper — just “moral people.” Cruz, as an example, can’t believe for me or for you, or for anyone else in the country, but only for himself.

A lot of folks that voted for Obama now see that they are his enemy.

It comes down to cash right now. Money is what keeps people in the game.

Cruz has a big pile of it and as others with money problems drop out, he will see the field change.

Bush has a ton of cash, but his donors are drying up. Carson is expanding his base, but the big guys either don’t support him or are watching to see if he will burn out in the next few weeks. Fiorina is doing okay and if she hangs on into November, she will be a solid player.

Santorum (who is broke already), Jindal, Christie, Pataki, Huckabee and Paul are all in serious money trouble.

Gilmore is already a non-entity, so this is just an ego ride for him.

Graham is just in it to make noise and squawk, he isn’t holding events and will stay in because he can get on talk shows.

Kasich looks to be the next GOPe horse being groomed as Bush deflates if Rubio doesn’t get the blessing.

So at the end of November I think we will see:

Trump, Carson, Cruz, Kasich, Bush, Rubio and maybe Fiorina left in the race for Iowa. With that configuration, there is no way Cruz is dropping out with as much cash as he has on hand.

This idea that if you can't get your way is childish. Get what you can and live with it.

I used to think the way you do. I voted for Mittens, and even contributed to his campaign. I did the same when McLame was the nominee. I also contributed to FioRINO's senate campaign a few years ago. Those days are over. We have now reached a point where there's not a hair's-breadth of difference between a 'rat and a RINO. Just look at how the majorities we elected in Congress bent over and grabbed their ankles for Obama. Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio seem to feel their allegiance is to immigrants over American citizens. I now feel that border security is the largest issue we face. ANY candidate who will not secure the border and stop rewarding the criminality of illegal aliens is not fit for a job that requires them to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

I'm not sure Trump is the guy yet, but I hope he keeps on keepin' on for awhile.

“Patting my own back. I called this the day after the debate. It wasn’t about what happened in the debate. It was about widening lead over #2 guy, Carson, and Trump accomplished his mission.”

Yes, you did…

True that he misunderstood Carson, and I was glad Carson had seized on a Trump tactic: Grab a big issue that people really care about and say what they’ve been wanting to hear.

But I think Carson’s popularity, such as it is, will begin to fall shortly, now that we have had our guilt-purging moment of respect for him. He is extremely likable, but Trump’s campaign will keep going on the big issues, as it should, and he will stay in front. In the end, people admire strength and an aggressive approach more than niceness.

BTW, all that said, Carson MAY with his comments about Sharia Law gain back a GREAT deal of what he lost. By not backing down, he is engaging in a maneuver now called the Triple Trump.

They have really only three months. If they haven’t knocked Trump’s numbers down by mid-Jan, he will roll up a delegate sweep by Super Tuesday that they can’t stop. Just look at where most of the early primaries/caucuses are-—states where Trump is leading “huge.”

Calling on other assets to bring down Trump is always a possibility.

If you don't have a twitter account, you should get one just so you can follow Guy Benson, Jonah Goldberg, Rich Lowry, Jay Cost, and Jim Geraghty. They EACH do a column a day on Trump, always wrong. Always.

THANKS. KUDOS. BUMP!

Remember that this is about a lot more than "just" ideology. These people's CAREERS and their WALLETS are on the line.

Very good analysis, LS.

BUMP!
