I think Trump, if he’s elected POTUS, will find himself in the same predicament as Eisenhower (or worse). He’ll be treated as an outsider and alienated by both parties to such an extent that it’ll be difficult for him to get anything done. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were able to overcome their outsider status because they were excellent politicians. Trump is no politician. He’s certainly no Reagan or Clinton. Just my opinion.
Oh, I agree. I can see the Dems/GOPee in congress having hissy fits. But if Trump is smart, he can do two things. He can assemble the best people for the job (unlike the cronies chosen now) and their success will bring him popularity with the people. Then, he can use the bully pulpit to get some (lib) congressmen and senators tossed out, no matter the party.
If Trump is able to do what he promises to do, he will be a success with the people. If he has difficulty that traces back directly to the “politicians,” the politicians will have trouble.
