MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Warning the GOP's presidential race has become too nasty, Scott Walker suspended his 2016 campaign on Monday and called on some of his Republican rivals to do the same, citing an urgent need to "clear the field" to help defeat GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

"Today, I believe that I am being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race so that a positive conservative message can rise to the top of the field. With that in mind, I will suspend my campaign immediately," Walker said in a Madison press conference.

I think Trump is more conservative than you realize. However as I said, if this country becomes minority white, no conservative will ever win anything ever again. we will be Somalia. shutting the border and sending the parasites home has to be goal number 1.

This is why I want a Trump/Cruz ticket. Trump deports everyone and maybe starts rounding libs into a soccer stadium, then hands the baton to Cruz who can rebuild America.

very funny response. Walker is acting like a crybaby! I think when Linda quits, he will lay a fear dump on stage, stinking of grits in the brown mush. nice one, Lindsey!

Walker is not going to like how he will be remembered.

Assuming he's remembered at all.

“I watched Greta and Trump had nothing but regards for the exiting Walker.”

That is what classy people do. They are positive and polite. They don’t gloat or make gratuitous attacks.

Listening to talk show hosts and other so called conservative media hyping this field of candidates other than Ted Cruz and puffing those people up disturbs me.

Mark Levin said something like “I may have two or three names to give you” when it comes to endorsement in comments he made some weeks back.

Glenn Beck says he’s for Cruz then puffs up Rubio and Fiorina, Carson etc. etc.

That’s crazy and it’s time to get behind one candidate who is solidly conservative and not to let go of them.

I think much of this ‘conservative media’ comes out as RINOstream Media to me, particularly Fox News and Salem Radio and many talkers including Meghan McCain who’s on radio at night now (I tune something else in) plus “Weekly Standard”, “National Review” and the list goes on.

Trump can only be defeated if someone can come up with a better message that appeals to grassroots working American conservatives.

Nigel Farage of UKIP has the best message of any political leader in the world today.

He spoke at CPAC earlier this year warning Republicans ‘don’t forget the Reagan Democrats’.

I guess Trump was listening......is Ted Cruz?

Walker proved Trump's point...these RINO professional pols are just marionettes for the traitorous donors.

and the strings are even easier to pull when your campaign is out of money. He gets his debt wiped clean for taking swipes at Trump.

Trump is counterproductive to the conservative cause.

He is living on Dem talking points, and the lift that the MSM constantly give him. He may have to ask their permission to drop out when the time comes.

That was the old plan. Trump necessitates a new plan. Winnow the field and take out Trump with a forced error.

Trump wouldn’t be able to deport anyone without the SCOTUS going along, and that will not happen. Have you forgotten how the courts attacked Governor Brewer?

Trump doesn’t want to deport any workers, he has already made that perfectly clear. He just wants to do a dance and legalize them.

Your last paragraph is total delusion.

It’s an interesting dilemma isn’t it? For years we heard from GOP-E RINO’s that we had to vote for the less-than-stellar conservative candidate because they were more electable. Also out of a sense of keeping the government out of Democrat hands for fear of irreparable harm to the United States. A position rejected by conservatives in 2012.

Now that Obama has done what was prophesized many conservatives who four years ago said no to Romney are saying we must vote for Trump despite his liberal views for the sake of the country. I’ll go along with that. But underlying all that is the fundamental assumption is America in an existential crisis?

I believe it is. Take for example Trump’s trade protectionist tendencies. They certainly fly in the face of everything the Smith/Friedman/Hayek acolytes espouse. But does that concern me? No. Because you have to actually have a country first before you impress upon it economic theories.

So, I have no problem admitting I’d support Trump despite his less-than-conservative ideals.

Sour grapes make fine wine Scott. Stop whining the only one responsible for the state of your campaign is you.

Agree! Trump definitely wasn’t worried about Walker since he never reached very well in polling or support! On the other hand, to blame anyone but yourself for your own failures is not or should be someone else fault...the conservative motto, take responsibility for your own failures or accomplishments! Hello or we not responsible for our own destiny! Strive to do your best but the risk is, there may be someone to best you! Suck it up, that’s the real deal in life!

Really, he is doing 99% of it on the MSM’s dime.

Its all free face time when they talk about his latest goofy idea or pronouncement.
