At least Cal has beautiful scenery and weather
I’ve never understood Chicago at all...congested, expensive, and bad weather. What’s the attraction?
Great restaurants, museums, shows, and sporting events. “Outdoorsy” if the lake is your gig. Wonderful place to visit. You don’t want to live downtown for more than a couple of years, because it gets tiresome after a while (speaking from experience).

100 years ago, it was the mid west king of banking and commerce. No excuse for anyone to live there now.
