In today’s world, you need Low-Info Voter votes to win.
Milquetoasts, like Romney, don’t get those votes.
For sure John McCain got more low-info voters than Mitt Romney. Just from being a an ex-POW.
Obama is the king of low info voters because he had a lock on low-info minority voters. I have heard in some immigrant communities palm cards are distributed to remind them who their bosses/jefes/what have you would like them voting for in the many offices and referendums.
