Fiorina was CEO of HP from 1999 to 2005. This included the tech bust of 2000. Overall I think HP did well during this period, especially compared against Texas Instruments.

No, seriously she really was horrible. Hewlett Packard was worth only about half of what it was worth when she got fired from the time she started 6 years before. Unlike what Carly tried to suggest in the debate, the NASDAQ as a whole was only down 23% during that time period.

If you look at her closest competitors during that same time period IBM dropped 16 percent less than HP-- and Dell posted a gain of 11 percent or in other words they did 56 percent better than Carly did. The Dell CEO might at least have a bit of credibility claiming his leadership illustrated a skill worth some consideration in being the leader of the free world.

One of the most telling events that illustrates her incompetence came the day she announced her resignation. On that day, the market celebrated the news of her being fired by pushing HP stock 10 percent higher at one point during that day. HP stock finally ended the day up an astonishing 7 percent.
