Comsider that in general, (SE) Asians have a higher IQ than whites, but whites have more people at the higher and lower ends of the IQ bell curve (genius/retardation levels). I think that IQs somewhat above the “average” are your very smart software programmers, etc, and more likely to conform to working in high-end jobs. The ones at either end of the curve-the geniuses and retards-are the ones who “think outside the box” (on both ends), and don’t fit into society-if they are disicplined enough or focussed enough or have whatever X factor it takes, they are the ones who lead through doors the rest of us would never consider (that can be for better or for worse, of course).

I mentioned in one of my posts that I.Q. is not everything. What I meant is that being smart does not necessarily make one able to function well among society.
My son-in-law is such an example. My daughter met him in L.A. where they each were visiting. Soon they wanted to get married. He living in a Kansas small town brought out the stereotypes in our minds, as we are Californians and thought Kansas people were probably farm hicks. When we went to Kansas it was a shock. Their family is rich. They're white, of course. But anything but hicks. The parents were smart inventors and made a fortune. They encouraged their kids to be self-motivated. Each one was smart and more or less became their own bosses and were successful and rich. However, they were very dysfunctional. Smart, but couldn't function well with each other and were weird. Definitely didn't match up against other Kansans we met.
Regarding Asians having a higher I.Q. than whites, in my experience it depends on country of origin. Japanese and Korean certainly. Lots of Chinese, not only from China but wherever Chinese have settled (Vietnam, Taiwan, etc.). But not so in many Pacific island nations such as the Philippines, have met very few bright people from there. I suppose the same case (country of origin) can be made for white people, depends on country of origin, although I haven't seen any studies of this. I have met a lot of dumb white people! (The low end of that bell curve.) Oddly enough, the numbers of dumb whites increasing have corresponded to the increase in numbers of Democrats.
