And Trump is NOT calling for the federal government to do anything.
This a teaser of TRUMPS attitude.. forget the guns ..
He’s a BIG gov’t Dude.. like Jeb, Obama, Carly and Kacich..
Small gov’t dudes are rare it seems..
States can do whatever they want.. big or small..
The US Constitution was written down to ENSURE federal givernment would remain SMALL(limited).. it’s whole reason for being..
To LIMIT the size and scope of the federal gov’t.. not to grant rights given by God.. which are evident even IF gov’t try to take them..
Thats why democrats (including Trump) have absolved the US Constitution..
TRUMP cares nothing for the US Constitution..
When did he mention it last?.. (like NEVER)..
Sounds to me like he’s talking about the constitution. Specifically, he’s talking about the second amendment being a right. less obviously, he’s talking about the full faith and credit clause-the constitutional clause that makes your marriage license and your state driver’s license valid in all 50 states. There’s nothing wrong with having a President use the power of the federal government to compel states to abide by the constitution which is what it sounds like he’s talking about to me. You’re obviously not a fan of Donald Trump but that big government small government BS just doesn’t fly here.
“The US Constitution was written down to ENSURE federal givernment would remain SMALL(limited).. its whole reason for being..”
I agree with your statement 100%. Truth is, it didn’t work. Smarter folks than me debate for hours on why .gov is out of control but fact of the matter it is out of control and it didn’t happen over night. It took decades to get where we are today. In light of these facts, it is foolish to think .gov will be back in the box next week or even over the term of the perfect presidential candidate. You and I are going to suffer through this mess for quite some time before it is restored. If it can be restored.
In the meantime, if my South Carolina conceal carry permit can be made valid in all 50 states by no further action on my part, that is a win for me.
So, when Trump puts out a black and white position paper that clearly supports gun rights, he’s a big government closet liberal stalking horse, and only the purest interpretation of the second amendment will do...you know, that interpretation that all the other candidates are running with.
What, exactly, would Mr. Trump have to say, do or support to convince you that he’s actually trying to do something for the good of the country?
Read his policy paper.
I happen to be a Cruz supporter.
Your failure to acknowledge his support of the 2nd and his discription of it in the opening of the paper tells me several things. A) You think people cannot grow and change they are forever locked into one position; 2)Trump scares you more than he scares the GOPe; 3) No one will satisify you as a candidate
