That thing is an electrical hazard and is just the parts stripped from an existing digital clock and put into another case. He should have designed it to be solely powered by the 9-volt battery connector (in the photo) to be safe but I’m sure that’s there to hold the time in case the mains power goes out—not the kid’s design. Obama should tell him that he didn’t build that, because he didn’t.
The school administrators could have handeled this much better and just suspended him for causing the evacuation of the school.
Does this mean the Secret Service can’t check the “clocks” this little fella is bringing to the White Hut for his visit with Buckwheat?
TICK TICK BOOM!
I’m just saying.......
Very good points, despite me believing 100% that this was a set up. This leads me to think that the school was in on it, (someone on the “inside”, perhaps, has contact with the father?) or someone in the school was highly proactive, yet independent, and acted in a way to further their “cause”.
Coupled with who his father is.
Yes.
You are correct. The nine volt snap on terminal is clearly visible in the picture. Most DIY projects of such simplicity would be run on 9v or other battery power.
Well, if it was a pot-tart...
Why would the kid hold a koran next to his project and have his picture taken? The kid is being brainwashed by a father who stages islamophobia stunts.
Did they actually call the bomb squad? Did they actually evacuate the school? Do we know these for facts that they did?
No, didn't design it but learned a lot about soldering, multiplexing and transistor switching that control the display and how capacitors isolate low bias voltages from the high neon display driver voltages. No battery in this thing and got bit a few times while building it. I never thought to take it to school to show off, much less expose the dangerous parts inside. It's perfectly safe inside its case, though. It's in my TV room and still keeps perfect time--based on 60 Hz line freq. This kid is a fraud or a dupe for his dad.
So far the young people Obama celebrates by invites to the White House are parents of army deserters and in this case wannabe terrorists looking to frighten his peers in school
Since a PHOBIA is an unfounded or unreasonable fear, and since there is nothing unreasonable or unfounded about fearing something that wants you dead if you don’t become them or submit to them, Islamophobia does not exist.
Next case.
The standard procedure when there is a bomb threat is to evacuate the school.
Now do you understand why a third of the US population thinks President Obama is a Muslim?
aka, target softener.
Right. Agreed, do we know that they actually DID that? I ask because I heard they did not.
Upon further reading I found that the did not call the bomb squad or evacuate the school for the suspected hoax bomb. I assumed that out of an abundance of caution they would have called in the bomb squad and evacuated the kids from the school.
Especially since we know that terrorist bombers typically do not only place one bomb at a target, but several order to cause a maximum death toll.
OR.... he was trying to 'please' his father.
REALITY: The 'teen' says he built/brought it to class for a science project.
He demo'd it in ENGLISH CLASS.
The $50,000 question is.... did anyone else bring in a 'science project' and was a science project DUE in science class that day ?
Maybe they thought it was simply intended to be a hoax bomb? They may have noticed the lack of explosives, but still thought it serious enough to contact authorities. The police already said he was acting funny about the whole thing. If a kid brings a hoax bomb to school, is the administration required to contact authorities?
