Carly Fiorinas political future depends on whether she can defend her record as CEO of Hewlett-Packard.
The likely GOP presidential candidate is aiming to do just that in her new book Rising to the Challenge, set to be released May 5, a day after the expected launch of her 2016 campaign. Fiorina now claims the companys decision to fire her in 2005, after a turbulent six-year tenure, was a result of a dysfunctional board of directors and not her leadership.
In an interview with The Hill, Fiorina said members of her own board leaked confidential information to the media to undermine her decisions, though she stopped short of alleging outright sexism. She was the first female CEO of a Fortune 20 company. Men understand other mens need for respect, but they dont always understand womens need for respect, Fiorina said. The situation that transpired in the boardroom was all about certain board members wanting to protect their position when they felt threatened, because their behavior was against the code of conduct, and they knew that I as a leader would not tolerate that conduct.
When asked again if she thought underlying sexism contributed to her firing, she said, Theres no question that women in positions of authority are scrutinized differently, criticized differently and characterized different.
-snip-
Still, she said President George W. Bush called to offer her a job in his administration the day after she was fired, though she declined to say which one.

Fiorina is the ultimate Bush insider.
From 2007 until 2009, she chaired the CIA’s External Advisory Board.
She was appointed by Bush and Michael Hayden, who famously lied to congress about the NSA’s spying activities against all American citizens through our computers (PRISM). PRISM began in 2007, the same year that former HP CEO Fiorina joined the advisory board...
She has a long relationship with the Bush administration going back to 9/11.

She was recruited into the race to run interference for the Bush clan.
I’m calling on you to list your reasons for such hatred of Fiorina that you’d stoop so low.
Good article about Florina in The Daily Mail. I’ll grant you that it quotes her ex-husband and his first wife, who probably has an agenda, but it’s an interesting read.
I don’t think so! They all have got baggage.
I see some of the signs of it. First off, by the rules paid down she had no right to be on the stage, but the rules do not matter to her. Secondly, she comstantly interrupted and spoke out of turn and had no problem hogging the floor. Her “impassioned” speech a out babies fell short of saying she would shut down the government. She is very quick on her feet, I will give her that. She showed no grace, no humor. Her response to trump on the 14th ammendment was intellectually dishonest (rand was honest about it). Not impressed at all.
She’s probably “evolved” like Trump has .
Fio-RINO was destroyed by Boxer with those ads. And Hillary will recycle those ads and destroy Fio-RIONO again. But that’s Karl Rove’s plan of course.
Karl Rove’s replacement for Jeb Bush as the GOPe Designated Loser to Hillary.
First choice is Ted Cruz? Nothing wrong with that!
But I beg to differ on Carly’s treatment here. From what I see it’s mostly negative, but it’s justified, imo.
By the RNC’s own admission, her advantage in running is not competence or accomplishments, but being female. Many people, myself included, don’t like identity politics - we can not afford to play those games this time around.
Markets don’t lie. As I recall, HP stock fell by about 40% during her tenure while the market in general fell about 5%. On the day that her termination was announced, HP stock rose 7% in one day. To me, that says a lot about how her leadership worked at HP.
This woman appears to be incapable of admitting and taking responsibility for any mistakes. I want to hear her defend the positions she took when running against Boxhead for U.S. Senate.
Here’s one maybe you have’nt heard. I worked for HP as a contractor on a federal gig while she was there. I found out HP was seriously padding the bill, lying about everything the were supposedly doing and laughing about it. I was in a meeting with some high ranking military guys one day and pointed it out to them. Of course I was fired then found out I was the 7th person in that position. Seems every time the feds questioned them on the progress they blamed the contractor and fired them.
Fio-RINO is an Amnesty Pimp and H1B visa pimp. That’s why she’s been crowned the GOPe’s replacement Designated Loser for Jeb.
Carly is a good talker. She talked her way into two jobs an failed at them. Let’s not let her talk her way into the presidency.
She knows her failures as a business person will be brought up. They were when she ran against Boxer. Indisputable facts were put out about her adventures as a CEO. For instance, the dramatic rise in HP stock price when she was fired. Hardly sexism.
She knows this info will come out again so why is she running? Egomaniacal overreaching under performer.
Trump, at least, is funny. Snarly Carly looks like she sucks lemons all day. Unappealing to me as a woman.
She’s rich enough to move to a more conservative state and run for office again. Using the Perry Principle, the more she fails, the more she moves up.
Karl Rove wants to run this woman because she will lose to Hillary.
And as trump pointed out something is fishy when you leave a high power kob then take a long sabbatical and then want to be president.
Shes rich enough to move to a more conservative state and run for office again. Using the Perry Principle, the more she fails, the more she moves up.
Also, did you see the way she talks? She looks like she is talking to an subordinate who has to take her abuse or get fired
