More than 700,000 people have taken to Twitter to support Ahmed Mohamed, a 14-year-old student who was arrested after bringing a homemade clock to school that was mistaken for a bomb. --SNIP-- Jafari, a 23-year-old psychology student at the University of Texas Arlington (UTA), was shocked that such a young student was arrested in her state. I saw a photo of the clock. It is digital, not a big deal at all to make; almost trivial. I can understand the concern because it could be the partial makings of a time bomb.
Why did the youngster not make a mechanical clock? Now that would be interesting to see.
Do it yourself electronic clocks have been around since the 1970s.
Funny, BBC article has no picture of actual ‘clock’ made by young Ahmed.
If they did, it would show something that looks like a suitcase bomb.
But that would hurt the narrative.

The truth is, this was caused by the crazy school “Zero Tolerance” policies that suspend kids for DRAWING a gun in school. Or creative writing outside school that includes violence against teachers. Or for having a pocket knife. Or having a knife in their car. Or...
From the picture it looks more like he stripped the electronics from an existing clock and put them in a metal case. If so then he did not create anything.

Sounds like a strong possibility there. The reaction has been so fast and so politically correct. It would seem to be choreographed.

Maybe he highlighted this kid because he is always looking for some proof that Muslims have contributed something to society since they invented algebra.
Electronic clocks do not require that size board. It is not a clock, though there may be a clock circuit on it as well as a clock display output.
Probably has some switching outputs that can switch several relays, and a built in wireless communication function, with both transmit and receive.
It was a setup, and made to look like an IED trigger.
