"The one guy that had some special interests that I know of that tried to get me to change my views on something—that was generous and gave me money—was Donald Trump," Bush said. "He wanted casino gambling in Florida."

That’s when Trump cut him off—and failed to tell the truth.
“I didn't,” Trump said.

The article goes on that Trump gave to money to the RNC in Florida.

So Trump didn't give money to Bush directly but to the party in 1998.

And it's likely true if Trump still wanted to get a casino in Florida after 17 years, he would likely have gotten one after Bush left the governorship.

This looks to be a "misunderstanding" what Trump was speaking about.

Right on! Trump has been in the casino development business much longer than Bush was the gov of Florida. If he really wanted a casino there, it would be there. Bush was just grasping for straws. It was correct for Trump to push back and not allow mis characterizations of past history concerning his business.
