Sowell ain’t running. I’d happily vote for him if was. The man is a genius.

But you cannot say the same for most of the folks who will be on that stage for the debate. Of all of them, only Walker and Cruz have really done anything to stick a knife in Democrats and their policies and both have paid a price.

And, strangely enough, both of ‘em are pretty quiet about Trump.

I am not a Trump supporter. The folks who support Trump disappoint me. Trump has turned his coat TWICE in his career. He has sucked at the teat of Big Government. He really is not a good standard bearer for “anti-Establishment” conservatism. I think his supporters are just projecting their hopes onto a guy they refuse to vette (like Obama supporters), even though his history is right out there for them to see (unlike Obama...).

But he seems to be only one ready to fight the battle against illegal immigration and other evils.

If I was running against Trump, I wouldn’t bother to attack him except to compare his policies to Left wing policies (like his tax scheme) that I was attacking.

Based on what? You can't trust him for his opportunism. He also hired one of the biggest pushers amnesty in the GOPe to be his campaign manager. I would trust that to be more indicative of his position on amnesty than anything he says. If he was really a hawk on immigration he would never hire that person.

Somebody mention Thomas Sowell? :)
"Donald Trump has virtually no chance of becoming even the Republican Party's candidate in 2016, much less being elected President of the United States.

"The reason is not hard to understand: Republican voters simply do not trust him, as the polls show. Nor is there any reason why they should trust him, given his chameleon-like changes in the past…

The danger is not that he will get the nomination, but that his irresponsible talk will become the image of the Republican Party, and that his bombast will drown out more sober voices that need to be heard, thereby making it harder to select the best candidate."
