According to Hegel, this process describes all of human History, which is Hegel's "God" becoming fully aware of Himself.
The theory is self refuting, since according to the theory, Hegel's own idea of thesis/antithesis/synthesis must be just another idea in human history subject to the Hegelian dialectic, to be eventually dissolved into a greater synthesis. So Thesis/Antithesis/Synthesis can't be an absolute truth.
Hegel's nefarious, crackpot theory is best left on the ash heap of history.
Never really got into Hegel in college, but did he exempt his dialectic theory from itself?
