Burbon Street and Vegas offer no redeeming values yet those places are culturally accepted and promoted by society both for their entertainment and economic impact.

Add creativity, engineering, and learning, remove the economics and relocate it to the desert and somehow it’s uncacceptable?

We agree on that.

yet those places are culturally accepted

Talk to a New Orleans cop about how "culturally acceptable" some of the behavior on Bourbon Street is. And no doubt ancient Babylon found their brothels and orgies "acceptable" too.

... and promoted by society both for their entertainment and economic impact.

There has always been money to be made catering to vice, sloth, and corruption. And let's face it, those things are lot more "entertaining" than hard work, thrift, and honor. So yeah, let's embrace them. Who needs civilization anyway?
