Swept under the rug is what happened. I believe it was Paulson, Bush’s Treasury Secretary, who told congress if the didn’t vote for the $900 billion bailout to rescue the economy, by Monday there would be no economy to rescue?

I think he was blackmailed. Something happened that week that we’ll never fully know.
