Presidential contender Donald Trump is going after Rolling Stone in the latest of a series of attacks against the media, saying the magazines editors added a lot of garish stuff to his controversial interview.
Trump said on Thursday that the author of the interview called to apologize for the way it was edited.
The writer actually called me and said, Im so upset, I wrote this great story and [publisher] Jann Wenner screwed it up he told me that, Trump said on CNNs New Day. They added a lot of stuff, a lot of garish stuff, that I think is disgusting.
Trump conceded the piece had moments of beauty and greatness, noting that the photographer was good.
The GOP primary front-runner has drawn criticism for comments he made about former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina in the Rolling Stone interview.
Look at that face! Trump said of Fiorina in the interview. Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!
Trump later clarified the remark, saying he was talking about Fiorinas persona.
Fiorina told Fox Newss Megyn Kelly that shes not going to spend a single cycle wondering what Donald Trump means.
Trump has previously been criticized for comments about women that have been perceived as misogynistic.
My point was that I am disinclined to give RS the benefit of the doubt in this dust up. There is nothing in their past behavior that warrants it.
I remember when Rollingstone started out they put a lot of leftist politics in with their music articles. I’ll bet, like me, most RS readers were only or mostly interested in the music articles. I was a lot more liberal then than now, but even then it was a pain to try and wade through the political screeds.
Who talks in terms of “cycles”?
Ok...
Well, hey now, I am in good company. LOL
I wasn’t quick to side with RS, I went looking for verification (or lack thereof) of what RS reported that Trump said. And found Trump himself saying that he probably said what RS said he said...
Too late, Trump. You own it.
Very true.
Trump didn’t confirm the wuote per se, just in a more vague and general sense.
Again, my point is that RS hasn’t earned credibility. They have earned the opposite.
‘Ok...’
We could always go with the alternative. Namely, that radical ‘gay’ leftist Jann Wenner has an impeachable history of integrity and fairness, and that in any case where he and Trump are in dispute, Wenner is to be assumed right and Trump wrong.
