Carson just said the wrong things about immigration. He is a big supporter of amnesty and his claims regarding deportation revealed that he is at best clueless.
Trump wants the equivalent of an amnesty in that he wants to deport them and then bring "the good ones" back in. This was a plan proposed by Pence and Hutchison back in 2007. It was rejected as amnesty then too.
