Yawn. Two 3rd rate militaries cannot even attack each other. The scary part is that both have nuclear weapons. Maybe some grownups can take away these toys before they hurt each other or others? I never understood why we did not keep stopped all interaction with Pakistan and India until they gave up their nuclear weapons. There is zero upside to both have them; they are not allies and are just as likely to use them against Americans and our allies as against anyone else.

It wasn’t that simple. The Soviet Union was there competing strongly for influence, and they still are, albeit by a different name. They would have loved the expansion and the access to the warm water ports.
