I will not attempt to psychoanalyze JG, except in this small way: in the last fifty years, even in the last ten or twenty, “responsible opinion” - as defined by the MSM - has moved far left, so people like Jonah think that they must move left in order to remain “respectable.” But in doing that - over and over - they cease to be conservative.
