Problem is you can take the lead now or wait and let someone else take the lead and then later on you have to come in and do clean up
The guy is brilliant altura. he spent many years in the State Department
The contrast between Powell and Cheneys was stark.
I disagree with Powell on many issues. But he exuded competence and mastery of the subject. He would have been annointed our first Black president and been competent at it...if only his wife hadn’t vetoed the anointment.
Cheneys repeated the same cliches. Just as they did not know how to play a chess game in 2003 they didn’t know how to advance more than one move in the TV interview game.
We need to learn that competence is as important as being right on the issues.
Colin Powell shows up on a lazy Labor day weekend, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin show up too for old time’s sake. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is voting FOR the Iran treaty

trump will now begin to see things differently as well compared to 5 or 10 years ago.
So we disagree. No hard feelings.
Yes and you don’t want much to do with trump or the cheneys. We are definitely at odds.
Well stated.
King Barry would be very comfortable with the destruction of society as we know it
We know exactly what he's going to do. Other GOP nominees (except Cruz) -- The will compromise, not fight, surrender, make believe they tried. Trump -- Negotiate, Negotiate, Negotiate. I'm not a single issue voter, but right now I'm 100% focused on gaining control of our country -- meaning our border and illegal immigrants. Otherwise all other positions are pretty well much moot. It comes down to this: I trust the recently converted over the professional lifetime politicians. I'll take my chances with Trump because there is no chance with the others. Cruz a notable exception. He's keeping his powder dry and waiting.
Yes and you dont want much to do with trump or the cheneys. We are definitely at odds.
“Trump may sound great now but you do not really know what he will do when in office?”
We know exactly what he’s going to do.
Say what?? Is that the Trump who was for open immigration or the one that’s tough on immigration? Thoroughly pro-choice or pro-life? The one who said he was basically a Democrat or the one who says he is a Republican?
My point is we do not know what he will do once in office. You are willing to take the chance that he will do what you hope he will. I am not given that there are others like Cruz who are more proven in office.
When and if the time comes to dump Trump for Cruz I will.
But yes, just like I said, we know exactly what Trump is going to do:
Negotiate, Negotiate, Negotiate.
the others:
Surrender, compromise, act like they tried and give us yet another bad deal.
The recently converted have more fervor.
Most of us are more than willing to take a chance after the beating we have been taking from supposedly conservative Republicans over the past million years
