The Kentucky clerk has gained national-wide attention for her refusal to issue gay couples a marriage license in spite of the Supreme Court's landmark ruling in June that same-sex couples have the right to marry.
Davis, who has lived in Rowan County all her life, has repeatedly cited "God's authority" as her reason for defying the federal courts and denying the marriage licenses.

Did you really mean to post that on this forum? Calling someone a “gay hater” just because they stand up for their values? You might be in the wrong place.
And she is a DEMOCRAT
Also agreed.
I think that is a Catholic thing.
Her personal life changes nothing about the law.
And there is no law that she has broken. No State law and no Federal law.
She is in jail because of a tyrannical Federal judge who had a hissy fit that his illegal orders were not followed like a good little robot.
A supreme Court ruling is not law. Indeed the Supreme Court ruling struck down all State laws, and there are no laws in place in any State to govern marriages.
But the Federal judges just want to make everyone think a new law is in place.
Amazingly, people miss that cogent point...
The whole "gay marriage" isn't about a religious ritual denied based on centuries of history, it's about tearing down the walls of western civilization morals and laws...
Where do we draw the line ?
There is no longer a line...
So what? She just became a born-again Christian fairly recently. Casting stones here?
Yes, it is.
So you make such a statement and then post such an image attacking Trump? Seems a bit conflicting.
Character assassination writ large...
Nothing, absolutely nothing about the primary issue...State’s rights and a judiciary that is intent on legislating from the bench.
Color me surprised...not.
Interesting. I've heard this “talking point” from more than one poster here.
Are ya’ll liberal, atheistic, or both?
You’re the fool. We ALL grope in the darkness and follow our own convictions prior to belonging to Jesus Christ. He is who changes our hearts. I cannot possibly list the mistakes and sins I committed prior to becoming a believer in Christ.
She’s forgiven and now is righteous in His eyes.
Mrs. Davis isn’t a Catholic. Protestant churches (to the best of my knowledge) do not require a marriage to be annulled to allow the person to be forgiven.
NOT bashing Catholics, just saying.
Come on. Enough with the conspiracy theories and reading into things that aren’t said.
I said - SHE LOOKS - only like a gay hater hiding behind religion. It diminishes her argument. That’s how people will label her.
THINK
Hum....has she been married to another woman? (like Rosie)
So she has had divorces, I've had a couple myself...does that make me a ‘gay hater’?
I have 4 children, none out of wedlock (gawd forbid the Victorian standards still apply in today's world)
Worked since I was 12 years old (worked on the family farm) so why should we listen to ‘judgmental’ people....she found God, and is living by the Bible, God forgives people, something humans don't always do...
That Scripture refers to taxes, not marriage.
No, no bashing perceived and I’m glad you mentioned it. I am a Roman Catholic so that’s my perspective.
Beats looking like a yankee hypocritical fool.
You do.

Her support will suffer? Not from those who see the big picture.
Her past history has nothing to do with the issue. The corrupt media has nothing better to do that this? Get a life.
