Donald Trump slammed conservative broadcaster Hugh Hewitt as a "third rate radio announcer" on Friday, one day after an interview with Hewitt exposed major gaps in Trump's foreign policy knowledge.
"It was like gotcha, gotcha," Trump said on MSNBC's Morning Joe. "Every question was do I know this one and that one? It was like he worked hard on that."
On Thursday, Hewitt asked Trump on his radio program about Quds Force commander Ghasem Soleimani. Trump responded an his oft-repeated line about how Kurds have been "mistreated."
"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you said Kurds," he added when corrected.
But Trump quickly pivoted to slamming Hewitt for asking "gotcha questions" after the radio host suggested that the commander-in-chief should have an in-depth knowledge of players on the world stage.

Hewitt probably asked because he understands how ill-suited Trump is for the leadership of the free world.
And once again, Trump proved it.
Are you thinking of voting for Hillary?
Likely not, so it's irrelevant. I would think you'd want a knowledgeable, prepared candidate.
His “stumble” was no stumble at all. He will learn the difference when he needs to.
It’s why a President selects advisors to, you know, ADVISE him on the often very minute details before making those domestic and foreign policy decisions. The captain of a ship has folks in the engine room doing stuff there that, while he may be fully capable of them himself, has more vital things on his mind.
What I want is a president who picks his own people people who, while they may not always agree, have the same basic philosophy, love of the nation and concern for its welfare and safety. Would not that concern be a refreshing change from the traitor now infesting the Spite House?
An example of the other sort was JFK who, after being installed, had to be INTRODUCED TO HIS DEFENSE SECRETARY, Robert “Tie The Troops’ Hands Behind Their Backs” McNamara.
Question: WHO THE HELL TOLD JFK McNAMARA WAS TO BE HIS SECDEF??? There are many other examples, but I think you get the idea.
Oh, BTW, PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!!
S U R R E N D E R - D O R O T H Y !
I heard the audio this morning. Trump sounded clueless: "Uhhhh..." He tried to cover up with an attempt to seem knowledgeable---the remark about the Kurds---but it didn't work.
So, you would have said the same of Reagan when he was asked similar gotcha questions. Rush just gave Reagan's answer:
"It's not important that I know their name, it's important that they know mine."
So, tell us how "ill-suited" Reagan was because he couldn't rattle off the names of semi-obscure international characters.
Ronald Reagan answered a similar question:
“It’s not important that I know their names. It’s only important that they know mine.”
Don’t you worry your pretty little head. Trump will do a fine job as President.
Oh, really?
Do you think that Trump is more ill-suited for the job than anyone in the GOP who knows the difference between Quds and Kurds and voted to assist our muslim president in ARMING THEM WITH NUCLEAR WEAPONS?!
I don’t.
I won’t be comparing Trump with Reagan, or Churchill, or William Wallace, or Old Testament prophets, or Jesus, or any of the rest. I’ll leave that up to you.
” I suppose next they will be shuffling out the hired whores to claim Trump sexually assaulted them and/or had an affair.”
And 100 other things.
See # 50.
Another false comparison.
The GOPe and Hillary and Obama are irrelevant. You Trump fans keep saying, “Well, at least he’s better than (pick one of the above).”
Is that all you want? We can do better.
You thought so yourself fairly recently. You were Freepmailing me about your dislike of Trump. Did you become one with the Body?
Lol, you absolutely unwittingly compared Trump with Reagan when you applaud the same sort of gotcha questions asked of Reagan that have now been brought forward by a Rino talk show hack and asked of Trump.
Trump answered in the same way as Reagan, only with more words, but still the same spirit: I'll know about them when I need to and they will know about me.
Strange how you applaud this old obscure question tactic that leftists have used against Republican candidates for many elections. You Trumpophobes inevitably trip yourselves up time and again.
Trump and Reagan, same pro-American, can do spirit.
Sorry, but if you don’t know who Soleimani and his Quds force are, you knowledge of the Iranian deal and its merits are pretty weak. It was all over the news a couple of weeks ago that Soleimani went to Russia, while he had travel restrictions on him, to meet with Russian leaders to work out an arms deal. Soleimani is a terrorist leader that is responsible for thousands of American servicemen’s deaths in Iraq. By Soleimani going to Russia it displayed that Iran, in the middle of negotiating the Iran nuke deal, broke its agreements with the world on Soleimani’s restrictions.
How is it a false comparison?
The GOP and its candidates most certainly do know the difference between the two, and they voted to arm the ones that are Evil islamists.
That is a fact. Ted Cruz’s name is on the bill that will facilitate this.
What do you mean we can do better? None of the other candidates ARE doing better. They are losing.
Yes, I initially was opposed to Trump. The murder of a beautiful American woman by an illegal alien shit stain changed that.
Trump addressed it.
The other candidates seem to be trying to pretend that it never happened.
I’m sorry, but they have failed.
I’m not going to tolerate our citizens being murdered by the people our government wants to replace us with, and neither should anyone else.
Funny, isn’t it, how you use liberal language-—”Trumpophobes”-—to label those on a conservative site who refuse to support a liberal.
That’s what happens when you support someone like Trump. You inevitably end up sliding leftward.
And used totally for your benefit. I'm using a root word from the ancient Greek, a perfectly acceptable and appropriate word for any but those intimated by political correctness, whether of the left or the right.
Will vote for Trump with enthusiasm. I want a problem solver in the Oval Office not a minutiae champ.
