Now does this preclude some OTHER legal solution?

Whoever is president, would they pardon her?

It’s been many years since I took Civics but I believe the solution to this is legal. Kim Davis missed a great opportunity when she did not resign and take her case to the courts and the media.

I don’t know that there are any restrictions on who a president can pardon. Current and former presidents have pardons some serious felons.
