On Wednesday, Dr. Ben Carson said America’s borders must be sealed to protect against terrorism and told a prominent group of Latino elected officials that he also supports giving illegal immigrants a path to legalization and eventual citizenship.
Addressing the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) in Nevada, Carson said that “the reason that I think we need to seal our borders completely… all of our borders–north, south, east, and west–is not so much because I’m afraid of somebody from Honduras.”
“I’m afraid of someone from Syria who wants to bomb us, who wants to do bad things,” he said. “So that’s the main reason that we need to seal all of our borders.”
Carson said that “we do have an illegal immigration problem that would be solved if we sealed the borders and cease the benefits” so that “people wouldn’t see a reason to come here.”

At least we know his position. I agree the border needs to be secured. We need to deal with Mexico, though. We’ve had an “immigration crisis” for decades and there’s no end in sight. The problem is Mexico and the elites in this country who want open borders.
I will not vote for a candidate that supports giving blatant lawbreakers any path to citizenship. I am a US Citizen and I do not get rewarded by choosing to violate the law of my choice for years for my financial benefit.
Either we are a nation of laws that are enforced, or we are a 2nd rate banana republic.

Yea, I’m Out. I had Cruz, Trump, Carson on my top 3. Carly dropped off when she showed a little feminist chip on the shoulder during the Kelly brouhaha. I break out in hives at the slightest hint of PC.

And he's had no experience as a leader of a large corporation or government entity. Maybe he could be surgeon general but I'm not sure what his background is or his views about public health.

Carson has been off my list for awhile. Still respect him, but like Carly they need funds and the GOPe can provide for their own unique price.
You are right. I guess he won a lot of people over because of Obamacare but his views on amnesty make me wonder what his other views really are.
Borders should be sealed to keep EVERYBODY out.

Where’s the compassion for Americans? We get screwed over by our government all the time—why are citizens of other nations more special than us? They deserve to be screwed over just as much as we are. They certainly don’t deserve better treatment than we do.
