No Surprise: Obama Gets Iran Votes

RUSH: Is anybody surprised? You should not be surprised that Obama got the votes that he wanted. And I'm gonna maintain to you right now that that was always in the cards once Chuck Schumer decided to vote against it.

Sorry if this sounds like an attack on Senator Schumer. I don't doubt that his opposition to this is principled, in part. But when I saw that Schumer was gonna vote against it and the story came, gonna be three or four to follow him along, it told me everything I needed to know. It meant that his vote "no" was safe, that it was gonna pass, his "no" vote was not gonna harm Obama. And I didn't doubt that this gonna pass anyway because of the Corker Bill. The Corker Bill made it impossible for this thing not to pass.

Yes. Republican Senator Bob Corker, Tennessee, totally reversing the ratification process for treaties.

And the simple explanation for what that means is, the president has to get... And I know it's not a treaty, but it is. I mean, it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck; it's a duck! It's a treaty. But Obama didn't want to call it a treaty because he didn't want to have to go through the constitutional requirements for ratification, which essentially two-thirds of the Senate must vote for it. Well, the Corker Bill! The Corker Bill said, "No, no!

"You know what? We're gonna suspend that! We're gonna change it, and what we need is, we need to get two-thirds of the Senate to vote 'no' in order to stop it, with a couple other ancillary requirements." It wasn't gonna happen. And if you're still puzzled over this, if you really thought that there was a chance that the Senate was going to vote "no" on this -- and I'm not trying to be a know-it-all cynic -- I remind you of what Mitch McConnell recently said about defunding Planned Parenthood, all right?

Now, let's go back to 2010. Republican voters are angry that the Republicans in Congress are not doing more to stop Obamacare. Now, back in 2010 there really wasn't much they could do. They didn't vote for it. There was not a single Republican vote for it, but they weren't speaking out against it forcefully. They weren't trying to create any allies on the Democrats to vote against it. Of course, in Obama's first term, Democrat loyalty and all that. The Republicans said, "Look, all we have here is the House.

"We can't stop the president with just the House. We need the Senate. You need to give us control of the Senate. We need to control the chairmanships and the committees, and once you give us the Senate we'll be able to do things." Okay. The 2014 midterms come around and we vote, and we give the Republicans the Senate. And now they are still paralyzed and can't do anything, and now Mitch McConnell and Boehner say, "Well, we don't have the White House.

"You know, we... we... we can't do anything here because Obama's gonna stop everything we do. I mean, there's nothing we can do." So in 2010, "You need to give us the Senate and then you're gonna see some action." In 2014 they got the Senate. "Sorry, can't do anything!" The most recent illustration: Planned Parenthood defunding. Mitch McConnell said, "Sorry. I just don't have the votes here. We're gonna need a Republican in the White House for this. We don't have it; can't get it done."

They don't want to, folks, for whatever reason. What a golden opportunity! I mean, just in the politics of this, what a golden opportunity to defund Planned Parenthood during the Obama administration. Make President Obama take action to maintain funding for all that we have learned that goes on in there! What has happened to the...? I'm sounding like a broken record along with everybody else. What in the world has even happened to the political instincts of the opposition party?

Even if you don't have the votes, you don't think, to override a veto, make him veto it! Defund Planned Parenthood! Everybody in the world needs to find out what's happening in that place. These videos have reached an audience, but they haven't reached a wide enough audience 'cause the Drive-Bys are ignoring it. Okay, so the Republicans in the Senate and the House pick up the movement to defund Planned Parenthood; this creates its own story. People say, "Why? Why?"

FULL FOOTAGE: Planned Parenthood Pacific Southwest Dr. Katharine Sheehan

"Take a look these videos, Average American. Low-information voter, take a look at this!" Get the videos out, and you broaden the base of understanding and knowledge. And then you get people all fit to be tied over what's happening in these clinics, those that will be fit to be tied anyway. Not everybody would be; liberals being liberals. But the point is in the world of politics, even when you can't win you can, because you can turn this around on the Democrats and make this president veto efforts to defund this.

Put the Democrat Party firmly in everybody's mind on the side of infanticide.

Republicans don't want to do it.

They don't want to get anywhere near it.

Like I said in an another thread I was really surprised that Schumer voted with the Republicans against the deal. I would have expected him to vote with his fellow rats

Sadly, Rush is right - the moment that Upchuck Schemer came out against the bill, the result was pretty much a forgone conclusion...

...and THIS, folks, is why the base of the Republican Party is simply and completely FED UP with the GOPe. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE TRUMP LEADING EVERYONE...and why I will proudly vote for him, and stay home next November if he’s not the Republican nominee.

The GOPe is a bunch of back-stabbing pieces of $hit, people who lie to our faces about what they will do, knowing full well that they are lying to us from the first second that they open their mouths. Phuck y’all, you corrupt, traitorous bastards...starting with Corker, who is my #1 political target for 2018.

If you are a "Jew" and vote Democrat, I have no sympathy for whatever happens to you.

Yeah, unfortunately, those self-hating, brain-damaged jackasses can't limit the effects of what they do to themselves. They affect the rest of us, despite our sanity and votes.

I don’t understand how Schumer coming out in opposition was a sign that the bill would pass.
How is that reasoning possible?

Because Schumer wants to be majority leader. He could never get that to job if he voted and that vote helped defeat a Dem President. Him voting against meant to me that the fix was in...the vote itself would be meaningless because enough other Dems would be stuck with Oama, but Schumer could say to his high Jewish population constituents that he voted against Iran and for Israel.

Understand that Schumer is a typical political animal, only more so. He cares only about Schumer.

OMG, I hope the Jewish Dems see through that.
Everything is so screwed up. I hope Cruz can straighten things out.

It’s just more of the usual Congressional Kabuki theatre. They ALWAYS cover votes, for each other.

Mikulski of Maryland, selling her soul and casting the *final* vote, just before she retires, is appalling. She may think the Earthly payoff is worth it.

DC is nothing more than a reeking, perverted cesspool that knows no limits to their evil corruption.

Jewish Dems don’t WANT to see through it. Otherwise pretty smart people, when it comes to politics, my kid’s hamster is at least 50 IQ points ahead these suicidal, self-hating, morons.

Gawd they make me want to puke.

Well, there may be a silver-white lining ......

The Iranians may give us a little surprise long before the treaty (oops, sorry) period is up ..... and if they kill enough center-city Urban Yutes and other Obama voters, they may deliver the country from those urban political machines, and slap the rest of the country wide-enough awake that the Democratic Party of unicorns and skittles simply disappears from American politics, opening the door to a new Main Street -GOPe political dipole.

Of course, this is all rank speculation.

I've made the same observations -- it is fitting that the people who favor letting a homicidal Islamic state build an atomic bomb will most likely be the ones who get vaporized when it is brought here.

In that ugly manner, this insanity will be somewhat 'self-correcting'.
