I disagree about Carson. Being a non-political outsider, the only way he could govern effectively is to make those around him dance to his tune. I have not seen that aspect of him.
His past flubs with 2nd amendment and mandatory vaccines also bother me.
Finally, one can enjoy the spectacle of Trump the man making the GOPe worms squirm without going all-in for Trump the candidate. Conservatives were railroaded into support for McCain and Romney in the last 2 elections. Third-parties, behind the scenes, were pulling the strings.
At least this time, it appears that the candidate himself is driving the bus. We’ll see if it goes out of control or not.
And, no, I do not consider myself a Trump supporter. An amused watcher? Absolutely!
I agree Carson is a fine man but I do not believe that he should be POTUS for reasons similar to yours. Additionally I feel that so many things are so FUBAR because of Obama that electing a Black will be virtually impossible. I do not intend that to be a racist opinion but a realistic one. Obama has not helped the USA one bit in any aspect of his job. And with so many blacks around the country asserting their “black privilege” (which now seems to include back-shooting murder), I feel it simply the wrong time to try to elect a black POTUS. It won’t happen. Obama backlash this time around will doom any black candidate, especially a Republican one.
Remember, not all, heck not even most voters are the thinking type of voter that we see on conservative blogs. Most do not assess the candidate’s strong and weak points and then make a well-thought-out selection. Unfortunately most voters simply pull the party lever and go on about their business. And if one party offers a black person for POTUS, especially this time around, they are toast.
Not all third parties. The GOPe controls many states with open primaries and pander to lib-Dems to jump in and vote against the conservative. Thus we got McCain and Magic Underwear...two total losers.
