Jeb Bush had "no choice" but to attack him with a recent ad, Donald Trump said Wednesday.
"Well I think had really no choice. He's doing very poorly in the polls, he's a very low-energy kind of guy and he had to do something, so they're spending a lot of money on ads," the Republican presidential candidate told ABC's George Stephanopoulos by telephone on "Good Morning America."
Bush's operation is spending the lion's share of its advertising on positive ads touting Bush's background as governor of Florida and his policies, with Tuesday's spot being the candidate's first negative one against Trump.
"And you know, he has a lot of money from the hedge-fund guys from the special interests, from lobbyists. He raised over $100 million, they control him totally, so he really had no choice, I think, George. He had to go out with an ad. He did a very expensive ad, and you know let's see what happens. So far everybody that's attacked me has gone down, but let's see what happens here," he added.

Very mild response from the Donald
Trump is tying the political world into knots and I love it!
Wouldn’t agree with it being mild. Donald continues to emasculate Jeb. Called him low energy and said he’s totally controlled by the hedge fund guys and lobbyists and that they’re making him do this. Seems to be Donald continues to give Jeb body blows every day.
Trump has played this beautifully. Jeb is boxed in. He has completely checkmated him. When Trump calls him out on illegals Jeb has no response because his act of love comment was one of the dumbest statements in the history of politics. When he fights back, Trump calls him out for hiding behind his donor money. Jeb is a horrible candidate that is imploding before your eyes. If somehow the RNC delivers him the nomination, the Republican Party will cease to exist as we know it.
Yes and no.
By stating that Yeb had “no choice”, he’s pointing out that Yeb cannot control his own message - that Trump himself is driving Yeb’s decision making.
He also throws in the slap about being “low-energy”, which I take to be more a reflection of voters’ reaction to Yeb, as opposed to the “brainy Bush” himself.
Balance, poise, and cool control in Trump’s response, IMO.
I don’t trust his politics, but I do love his politicking!
I knew this would be the Trump response to Bush.
LOL
Oh I agree
I guess the Bush dynasty is now so emasculated no one in the family has the cajones to tell Jeb he is wasting money and dragging the brand down ever lower - and to please stop letting himself be used by the GOPe
except maybe Barbara
Rofl!!!!!
Great!!!
I think Trump is giving Jebby all the rope he can handle..
Use up all the campaign money for ads, nothing left, still gushing down the drain, do you think the Super PAC people want to keep pouring more money after this guy when they can support someone like Cruz or Carson?
Trump is letting him hang himself, one day at a time...
That RINO blowhard Bill Bennett suggested this morning that Bush challenge Trump to a series of one-on-one, mano-y-mano televised debates.
Is he smoking something? As a Bush sycophant this should be absolutely the LAST THING ON EARTH he should want. It would look like last year’s AFC Championship Game. Trump would absolutely wipe the floor with him.
Of course personally I say, bring it on if you’re that stupid, Jeb.
Bill Hemmer and Martha MacCallum have been “destroying” Trump every chance they get on FOX News this morning. What the hell has happened to FOX?
Just following orders.
Jeb is playing tiddlywinks and Trump is playing jujitsu. Jeb puts out an attack ad and Trump effortlessly turns it against him without spending a penny.
Trump comes across like he’s almost sorry for Jebbie. Its hysterical. “look Steph Jeb is Low T so what other choice does he have but try to attack me? Its sad and pathetic but hey his donors probably demanded it” :-)
Yep, I was telling my hubby a few days ago that Trump would answer to Jeb just like this.
And he did! LOL
