children of illegal aliens are not being deported. They are being placed into the custody of their illegal alien parents who are being deported.
Custody follows the parents. Custody does not follow the favored citizenship of the adult criminal’s actions.

There is is—Occam’s razor.
And if they don’t want their children, they are prima facie unfit parents and their kids should be adopted-out to Americans after the parents are deported.
Illegal acts have consequences. “Your Honor, you can’t send me to prison/deport me. I have children who need me.”
