Former Gov. Rick Perrys campaign continues to retrench.
The Republican from Texas has whittled his staff in Iowa to one paid operative amid continuing fund-raising struggles, a spokeswoman for Mr. Perry confirmed.
Mr. Perry led in the polls for a stretch during his first presidential bid four years ago. He spent significant time boning up on foreign policy and getting himself in physical shape for the grinds of the campaign trail.
However, he has failed to generate excitement among voters in a crowded and more competitive Republican field. A Monmouth University poll on Monday showed Mr. Perry with support of 1 percent of likely Republican caucusgoers in Iowa.

sucks to be you. I have been in Texas for 35 years and have seen everything Perry has done. To give him credit for what happened despite his blunders is stupid at best.
I like Perry and could probably vote for him if I had little choice. I think his problem is that he comes across as all pizzazz but little substance. Not saying that’s the way he is, but he’s not connecting with potential voters.
It’s all over but the Roseanne Barr singing
He has supported bad ideas that didn’t pass too.
we have a “weak” Governor in this state for a good reason
good governor apparently... just not ready for the big leagues. not sure if he ever will be. in terms of issues, i’m pretty sure he’d be in my top 5. however, sometimes you just have to know when to fold ‘em Rick.
it’s sickening to me that the MSM and party elite now decide who our candidates are and handholds them all the way through the nomination process. it’s bad for us as conservatives, but they are even doing this to democRATS. the democRAT nomination process is 100% rigged in favor of Hillary and only now are 2nd tier democRAT candidates discovering for themselves that they are playing in a rigged game.
Rick Perry never really had a chance. he’s kind of bland and the MSM had no interest in giving him any free publicity.
It has to be Trump that makes the offer. Can't be Cruz, to wit: Rick, how would you like to be Sec Def?
Gone.

La Raza Rick Perry never stood a chance because he was not on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.
Americans are waking up to the fact that both parties have been encouraging fraudulently documented foreigners to enter the country illegally and then they are refusing to uphold the law.
Looks like Linda Graham stole La Raza Rick’s thunder.
*snort*
So this means Perry is the odds on winner of the FR Republican Primary Death Pool?
Thanks for pointing that out to folks.
We also have:
1. Instate college tuition for illegals.
2. Multiple major sanctuary cities.
3. Increased costs for property taxes and wind insurance. 4. Millions of kids in ESL and Spanish only classes.
5. Growing Muslim population.
6. Arabic immersion magnet school in Houston.
...not to mention a Kalifornia cockroach infestation.
Does it really matter?
He’s goin’ all... the... way... !
IMO 2012 was Rick’s to lose, but lose he did. He can’t get that moment back.
You guys realize Rick Perry inherited most of those good things from the more powerful Texas legislature.
Scott Walker had to work to implement all that stuff in a blue State.
My Walker infomercial for today. He’d make a good VP under Trump to keep Trump honest. :)
..not to mention a Kalifornia cockroach infestation.”
Not just from Kalifornia but am also seeing lots of cars with New Jersey, Illinois and a whole lot of other northeastern and eastern states. Too many of them don’t seem to be checking their liberal baggage before they cross the border into Texas. We need to put a wall all the way around Texas.
Close.
