As far as electability goes, Ted stands a much better chance in the general, with his relatively low negatives.

Low negatives are not positives, and he doesn't have them, either. Wishful thinking is not analysis.

Not a popular opinion yet, but I think Trump would be our strongest candidate in the general election. I believe there are a substantial number of moderates/working class white Dems who are concerned on immigration who wouldn’t worry about Trump being “right-wing”.

I do think Trump is an East Coast moderate on most stuff. And I believe the electorate intuitively knows it as well. While that means conservatives need to make sure we box Trump into positions he can’t wiggle out of once in office, it also means his electability is higher in the general.

Shorter version: A lot of people who would never ever vote for Cruz might actually pull the lever for Trump.
