His life as a medical student and doctor doesn’t prepare him well for a leadership role, imho.
He is without a doubt one of the most accomplished surgeons ever, he is incredibly intelligent and his surgical record certainly indicates that he works well under pressure.
Nevertheless, this doesn't translate into much when it comes to running a country. If you look at large medical practices they ALL have a non-doctor with a strong business background who functions as a sort of CEO. They do this because they are smart enough to realize what their strengths are and aren't.
