2. Politics is about name-recognition and none of the other candidates besides Trump has the name recognition to challenge Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton.
Therefore, Trump is the only candidate with a chance to win who has promised to do the only thing that matters.
Uh...no. Immigration is not the only issue. It is one issue. Bringing jobs back to the US, repealing Obamacare, removing regulations that are stifling business, and other major leftist-caused problems with the economy needs to be fixed as well. Otherwise, this nation will not survive. Illegal immigration is just one issue and one aspect of this cluster%#& that the leftist Democrats have created.
Name recognition means nothing if the immediate connotation that comes with that name reads "fat cat, entitled, corporatist elitist"...which could easily be tied to the name Donald Trump by many Americans.
What we need in order to save this nation at this point is a solid conservative with a proven conservative track record. The fact that Trump has never been known as a conservative or known for mostly conservative views (like his being pro-abortion and pro-single payer healthcare) is not only troubling, but it may well keep him from winning any GOP primary.
Which would automatically mean that he would probably run as 3rd party Independent, and siphon off enough votes form the GOP to allow ANY POS leftist Democrat to win. Which is, coincidentally, my fear re: his intentions all along.
People can and do change. Once Obama’s destruction of America got underway in earnest (which took a couple of years; he didn’t start out by fully revealing his anti-Americanism, but rather revealed it a piece at a time over the course of his terms) people with the capacity to wake up did so. Trump published his book, Time to get Tough: Making America #1 Again, in 2011. It’s basically the platform he’s running on, and there isn’t a liberal line in it.
